Responsibilities

McDowell Center for Children (a UHS facility):

McDowell Center is a 28-bed residential treatment facility located in Dyersburg, Tennessee, for adolescent males experiencing mental health, behavioral, and/or substance abuse issues. Our staff is made up of licensed therapists, psychiatrists, nurses, and counselors who offer 24-hour support for our patients. We provide young men with the skills they need to improve their thinking patterns, make healthier choices, and create new futures with improved outlooks and outcomes.

McDowell Center for Children is seeking a dynamic and talented individual with responsibilities in Accounting and Business Management. The Business Office Coordinator ensures the collection of payments due to the facility in a timely and accurate manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of McDowell Center for Children. The Business Office Coordinator, coordinates and controls the business office and collections function. Daily functions will also include payroll and timesheets. The Business Office Coordinator supports the delivery of quality services and the financial goals and objectives of the organization through effective daily management of financial data, billing and collections.


Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration or related field or four (4) years equivalent work experience. Two (2) years accounting experience in health care environment preferred. Thorough knowledge of Excel and Word required.

Experience: Prefer five years clinical experience in a psychiatric inpatient facility with knowledge of high- risk areas. Three years management experience preferred.

Skills: Possesses knowledge of procedures related to a health care environment. Current knowledge of regulating /accrediting agency guidelines.

Physical Requirements: Ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Repetitive motion for typing and manual dexterity to access filing systems. Push, pull and lift up to 40 pounds. Intermittent sitting, standing, walking, bending and stooping. Drug and alcohol free as evidenced by negative results of post-offer, pre-employment urine drug screen.
