Forest View Hospital, located just seven miles southeast of downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan, is a private 108 bed psychiatric facility that serves children, adolescents and adults. We are licensed by the State of Michigan, fully accredited by The Joint Commission and we bring more than 45 years of experience to the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of behavioral health problems. As a part of our continued success and growth, we are seeking qualified applicants for a Recruitment & Retention Specialist.

The Recruitment & Retention Specialist acts as ambassador to Forest View Hospital employees and prospective employees, providing information and support services at all stages of the employee life cycle: recruitment, onboarding, orientation, career planning, career development, and transition. The Recruitment & Retention Specialist works with senior management in developing strategies to recruit and retain a strong work force and promotes Forest View Hospital as an employer of choice in the community.

Key Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Partners with the hiring manager to determine staffing needs.
  • Screens resumes, schedules, and conducts the initial interview (by phone, Skype, or in-person), making recommendations to hire or not to hire.
  • Research and develop opportunities to recruit, retain, and promote a culturally diverse workforce.
  • Review, update, classify and reclassify job descriptions for existing and new positions
  • Participates in career fairs, on-line job fairs, attends community networking events.
  • Partners with the Business Development for advertising programs (internal and external) to ensure high visibility with potential candidates and the on-going development and maintenance of community partnerships.
  • Arranges management interviews by coordinating schedules and conducting tours as needed.
  • Partners with the Director of HR to develop and lead retention strategies.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in HR or Marketing preferred or 2-3 years of applicable expereince.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to coach and counsel employees as needed and maintain positive relationships with individuals of all levels.
  • Knowledge of employment interview techniques and HR law.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision
