About the Opportunity: Pursuit Aerospace is seeking an experienced and results-driven General Manager to lead our Thomasville, GA aerospace manufacturing operation. This facility generates approximately $40M in annual revenue with a clear path to $50M, and is home to a skilled and dedicated team of 130 employees. This is a critical leadership role for someone who thrives on improving performance and driving results. The site is at an important inflection point, and we are looking for a leader who can elevate operational performance, improve on-time delivery and quality, and position the site for sustained profitability and growth-all while maintaining the highest standards of safety and employee engagement. The GM will have full P&L responsibility and oversee all aspects of operations, including manufacturing, quality, engineering, materials management, planning, and continuous improvement. A key part of the role will be strengthening customer relationships to ensure alignment and trust as we work toward shared goals. Success in this position will require a hands-on leader with strong business acumen, operational expertise, and the ability to drive transformation while building a high-performance culture. - Develop and execute the site's business strategy and operating plan, with a focus on improving profitability, operational performance, and customer satisfaction. Establish clear goals for all functions and ensure accountability for delivery.
- Serve as a visible and hands-on leader, modeling the highest standards of ethics, quality, customer responsiveness, and accountability. Ensure compliance with all company, customer, and regulatory requirements.
- Drive operational excellence by ensuring safety, cost, quality, and on-time delivery targets are consistently met. Demonstrate a relentless commitment to financial discipline and process improvement.
- Lead and empower the site leadership team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and servant leadership while delivering results. Build a team capable of sustaining a high-performance environment.
- Stabilize and strengthen core operations, including production processes, capacity planning, resource utilization, inventory management, and cost control. Implement effective operating methods and process improvements to achieve quality and delivery commitments.
- Engage deeply in daily operations, quickly addressing production, maintenance, and supply chain challenges to prevent delays and minimize costs.
- Champion continuous improvement through the Pursuit Production System, leveraging Kaizen and Moonshining methodologies to drive process breakthroughs, efficiency, and quality improvements.
- Partner closely with Sales and directly engage customers, acting as the voice of the customer (VOC) to ensure alignment and satisfaction. Build strong, trust-based relationships and seek opportunities to expand business with existing and new customers.
- Collaborate across the organization on strategic initiatives, including policy deployment targets focused on cash generation, cost reduction, and growth.
- Attract, develop, and retain top talent, building a passionate and driven leadership team. Create a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous development that enables long-term success.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field
- 10+ years of progressive experience in a manufacturing environment
- 5+ years of progressive experience in a leadership role
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis.
- Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Aerospace manufacturing experience preferred, ideally in fan blades, airfoils, or precision round parts.
- Advanced degree preferred.
- Proven leader and change agent, able to drive operational improvement, build trust, and influence teams at all levels.
- Strategic, analytical, and results-oriented, with sound judgment and the ability to empower others to take ownership of operations.
- Hands-on knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement, including Kaizen, to reduce cycle times, control costs, and improve product quality.
- Strong understanding of support functions (HR, IT, finance, accounting) and how they contribute to operational success.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and manage operating and capital investment plans.
- Outstanding negotiation and relationship-building skills with vendors, suppliers, shippers, and internal and external customers.
- Proven ability to integrate sales, operations, finance, logistics, and HR to maximize P&L performance and deliver results.
- Track record of building high-performing, engaged teams and fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and positive employee relations.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to present and influence across all levels of the organization.
- Emotionally intelligent, adaptable, and resilient, able to challenge the status quo and act with urgency to drive results.
- Demonstrated customer focus, forging strong, lasting relationships that support business growth.
- Ability to apply logic and problem-solving to both abstract and practical operational challenges.
Working Conditions
- Requires mobility in a manufacturing plant environment while using Personal Protective Equipment.
- Must be able to frequently sit, stand and walk.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Capable of being forklift, scissor lift, and boom lift certified
- Must be able to climb ladder, work on platforms, and climb stairs
- Personal protective equipment (e.g., safety glasses and safety shoes) is required on the shop floor
- Occasional weekend and evening work may be required to accommodate priorities, deadlines, and schedules.
