Job Summary We are seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineering Intern to support the maintenance, repair, and performance optimization of industrial equipment. This internship offers hands-on experience in developing preventive maintenance strategies, troubleshooting equipment issues, and analyzing data to enhance operational reliability and reduce downtime. The role is ideal for a student pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering, eager to apply their academic knowledge in a real-world industrial setting. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and implementing preventive maintenance strategies to ensure equipment reliability and performance.
- Support troubleshooting of equipment failures, helping identify root causes and assisting with repairs to minimize downtime.
- Collect and analyze equipment performance data to support recommendations for improving operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with senior engineers and maintenance teams on equipment repairs, upgrades, and installations.
- Document maintenance activities, equipment performance, and repair logs to support operational reporting.
- Follow safety protocols and industry standards during all maintenance and repair tasks.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for improving maintenance processes and equipment performance.
- Assist in creating maintenance schedules and procedures under the guidance of experienced engineers.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- Cumulative minimum GPA of 3.0 (based on a 4-point scale)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Anticipated graduation within a year after the end of the internship
- Cumulative minimum GPA of 3.25 (based on a 4-point scale)
Experience:
- No prior professional experience required; coursework, projects, or prior internships in mechanical systems or equipment maintenance are a plus.
Technical Skills:
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems and troubleshooting techniques.
- Familiarity with or willingness to learn preventive maintenance tools and processes.
- Exposure to data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, MATLAB, or CMMS) is an advantage.
- Knowledge of mechanical design principles or industrial equipment operation is a plus.
Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to safety and quality.
Availability:
- Ability to commit to 10 weeks for a full-time internship (May 26, 2026 - July 31, 2026)
