The Data Governance and MDM Lead plays a strategic role in designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise-wide master data solutions and its governance. This individual serves as a bridge between business and technology, ensuring that data is treated as a strategic asset across the organization. With a strong foundation in Master Data Management (MDM), solution architecture, data governance, and business process optimization, this role drives data quality, enforces governance, and supports digital transformation efforts. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, business acumen, and leadership experience in solving complex business problems through data.
Responsibilities:
Master Data Management
- Lead MDM initiatives including data cleansing, standardization, enrichment, harmonization, and migration to support enterprise transformation programs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs, gather requirements, and ensure alignment with business transformation objectives.
- Define and enforce data modeling standards, hierarchies, and integration patterns across systems.
- Oversee MDM projects, coordinating with data stewards, analysts, and developers to deliver high-quality outcomes.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of MDM processes, identifying opportunities for further optimization to support evolving business needs.
- Oversee the implementation and optimization of the Syniti ADMM platform in collaboration with offshore development resources, ensuring configurations align with business requirements and governance standards.
- Collaborate with Syniti developers, including offshore teams in India, to translate business and governance requirements into technical specifications and ensure successful platform delivery.
- Establish data quality metrics, monitor data quality issues, and implement corrective actions to maintain high data integrity.
Data Governance Leadership
- Develop and lead the enterprise data governance framework, including policies, standards, and procedures in collaboration with data owners and stewards.
- Champion the creation and maintenance of a business glossary and enterprise data catalog aligned with SAP and business terminology.
- Facilitate data governance councils and working groups to drive accountability and decision-making around data assets.
- Identify and resolve data-related business challenges, ensuring governance practices are embedded in business processes.
- Provide strategic guidance on data ownership, stewardship, and lifecycle management across domains.
- Lead efforts to improve data literacy across the organization through training, enablement, and change management.
Business Partnership & Problem Solving
- Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders, translating business needs into data-driven solutions.
- Use data to uncover insights, drive operational efficiencies, and support strategic initiatives.
- Demonstrate strong judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions to complex business problems.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in MDM architecture and implementation
- 3-5 years of experience in data governance leadership or enterprise data strategy roles.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience with Syniti
- Experience with SAP ERP transformations

- Deep understanding of SAP master data domains and enterprise data integration preferred.

0-20% travel required Disclosure as required by applicable law, the annual salary range for this position is 98,000- 163,000 . The actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, education, and skill level. The salary range is CONMED's good faith belief at the time of this posting.
