EndoTheia, a rapidly growing medical device startup developing flexible endoscopic devices to improve patient outcomes and empower physicians worldwide, is currently hiring for a 
Visualization Engineer to join their team in Nashville, TN.
 
 
This position will lead the development and integration of digital visualization and illumination systems for next-generation flexible endoscopic devices. This role will have a strong emphasis on CMOS image sensor integration, fiber bundle and LED illumination systems, and design-for-manufacture/assembly (DFMA) of millimeter-scale optical and electronic subassemblies.
 
 
Key Responsibilities
 
  
 - Lead the integration of CMOS image sensors with custom and off-the-shelf imaging subsystems into novel medical devices.
 - Design, prototype, and optimize fiber bundle and LED illumination assemblies for miniature visualization systems.
 - Apply DFMA principles to the design of millimeter-scale optical and electronic components and subassemblies.
 - Use PCB layout software to develop custom printed circuit boards for imaging and illumination systems.
 - Use CAD to design assembly fixturing, precision enclosures, and integration hardware for sub-millimeter optical/electronic components.
 - Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, clinical, regulatory, manufacturing) to ensure seamless system integration.
 - Work with OEMs and suppliers to source, validate, and qualify imaging and illumination components.
 - Prepare documentation (drawings, BOMs, assembly procedures) and contribute to design history files.
 - Support design verification testing and performance characterization of prototypes.
 - Participate in design reviews, risk analysis (FMEA), and design control activities.
 
  
 
 
Qualifications
 
  
 - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Optical, Biomedical, Mechatronics, or related Engineering field.
 - 2+ years of engineering experience (medical devices or other highly regulated industry preferred).
 - Hands-on experience with CMOS image sensors and/or fiber optic imaging systems.
 - Familiarity with LED integration and optical coupling for small-form-factor devices.
 - Experience applying DFMA at the millimeter scale for electronics and optical subsystems.
 - Proficiency with PCB design software (KiCAD, Eagle, or Altium).
 - Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).
 - Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.

 - Knowledge of ISO 13485, ISO 14971, and FDA QSR medical device design controls.
 - Experience with IEC 60601 or other medical device safety standards.
 - Familiarity with image signal processing and embedded system design.

The pay range for this position is $90,000 - 140,000 Annual (USD). The successful candidate's particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
