About the Opportunity:

As a Manufacturing Engineer II, you will create and improve aerospace manufacturing processes, tooling, and documentation to support both new product introduction (NPI) and ongoing production. In this role, you will balance hands-on shop floor engagement with technical analysis and project leadership across a variety of initiatives, driving process stability, continuous improvement, and cost reduction. Your contributions will directly enhance quality, cost, and throughput across the facility.

You will partner closely with production, quality, supply chain, and customers to resolve challenges and strengthen processes. This role offers the opportunity to expand your technical expertise, gain exposure to advanced manufacturing methods, and make a meaningful impact on daily operations.

Location: Eastford, CT

Responsibilities:

  • Provide hands-on shop floor support to troubleshoot abnormalities and improve processes.
  • Collaborate with production, quality, supply chain, and customers to resolve technical issues and ensure manufacturability.
  • Create, improve, and maintain manufacturing process documentation.
  • Perform technical analysis using CAD, ERP/MRP, and other engineering tools to support process development and improvement.
  • Contribute to tool and equipment design activities to improve manufacturability and production efficiency.
  • Lead and support cross-functional projects, including NPI development, process stabilization, and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement and process optimization through Kaizen, root cause analysis, corrective and preventative action (CAPA), and other methods to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and efficiency.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing engineering or related field.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis.
  • Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aerospace Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Experience working in an AS9100 environment.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across teams and with customers.
    • Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
    • Hands-on experience with sheet metal fabrication, fabricated assemblies, and machining processes.
    • Familiarity with CNC programming, setup, and operation for sheet metal fabrication and machining equipment.
    • Exposure to tool design and machine design in a manufacturing environment.
    • Strong knowledge of Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma principles.
    • Proficiency in GD&T and blueprint interpretation.
    • Proficiency with advanced Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
    • Proficiency in 3D parametric CAD software (such as NX or Solid Edge).
    • Experience with ERP/MRP systems (preferably Infor VISUAL).

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed in a climate-controlled, well lit, and reasonably clean aerospace manufacturing environment. Noise levels are generally below 80 decibels.
  • Most work is performed on the shop floor in a manufacturing environment with required PPE.
  • Role involves standing, walking, climbing stairs, and moving around equipment during daily activities.
  • May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, or lifting items up to 25 pounds.
  • Work requires use of hands and arms to handle and manipulate parts, tools, and equipment.
  • Tasks include a blend of hands-on activities with parts, tools, and equipment, and technical work such as reviewing data and using computer-based systems.
  • Frequent interaction and communication with production teams, supply chain, and customers in a dynamic environment.
  • Extended periods of focus and attention to detail may be required when working on technical projects.
