About the Opportunity:

The Benefits Analyst position serves to administer retirement and health and welfare employee benefit programs. Responsibilities include explaining benefits and assisting in business development and planning processes with service providers; compile, analyze, and report employee data; and providing counsel and guidance to employees and managers. This position will be directly responsible for various functions within the Total Rewards team, including-but not limited to-daily benefits administration, leave management, and the enforcement of company policies and procedures.

Location: Manchester, CT onsite at least 4 days per week, with the ability to work remote 1 day per week, as agreed upon with Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance and counsel to employees on the requirements and provisions of benefit programs and assist with the resolution of potential problems.
  • Coordinates the design and communication of annual benefit enrollment materials.
  • Develops, conducts and participates in a variety of presentations to inform and educate employees about changes to benefit plans, administrative practices and legislated requirements and programs.
  • Monitors eligibility, limitations, and restrictions of plan participants and ensures compliance with both plan provisions and government requirements.
  • Responsible for data necessary to complete government compliance activities (5500s, audits, etc.), employee mailings, vendor billings, coordinating data collection and updating numerous reports for management.
  • Assures processes and procedures are in place to capture and maintain consistent and accurate benefit related data.
  • Oversees/directs the administration of COBRA compliance.
  • Provide great service to internal HR customers and work collaboratively across the HR Leadership team
  • Create and implement total rewards strategies that align with the organization's goals and objectives
  • Lead the design, implementation, and management of benefit programs including health and wellbeing, financial wellness, time-off, leaves, and accommodations.
  • You'll manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts with external partners
  • Support the integration of acquisitions
  • Partner with site HR teams regarding the delivery of products, programs, and services to continuously improve impact and effectiveness with a service mindset

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or related field
  • 4+ years of experience in Benefits
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis.
  • Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Deep knowledge of benefits best practices, trends, and regulations in and outside of the US including in ACA, discriminatory testing, and state requirements / disclosures
  • Experience working with self-insured benefits
  • Experience integrating acquisitions into existing benefit programs
  • Experience working in an HRIS, preferably ADP
  • Demonstrable experience using data for HR Metrics and subsequent action planning; including Microsoft excel proficiency
  • Experience with retirement benefits, specifically 401K, is ideal
  • Exposure to payroll is a plus
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • High degree of personal responsibility; meets commitments
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to drive decisions
  • Excellent active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills

Working Conditions

  • Must be able to have prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to frequently sit, stand and walk.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 pounds.
  • Personal protective equipment (e.g., safety glasses and safety shoes) is required on the shop floor
  • Occasional weekend and evening work may be required to accommodate priorities, deadlines, and schedules.
