JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the shop with a primary focus on inventory control and purchasing while supporting project timelines and maintaining cost-effective purchasing practices.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


  • Five years' experience in the sprinkler industry or construction industry.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Maintain accurate inventory levels of pipe, fittings, valves, sprinkler heads, and related materials.
  • Implement and manage inventory control systems electronically to track usage and stock levels.
  • Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and terms with suppliers. Responsible to order materials, tools, and equipment from vendors.
  • Responsible for tracking and ensuring accuracy of incoming materials against purchase orders.
  • Ensures outgoing shipments of inventory are accurate and sent to the correct job site or company location.
  • Ensure equipment and tools are in proper working order (identify and document deficiencies) and coordinate the checkout and distribution to field personnel.
  • Inspect lifts to ensure they are operable. Identify and document deficiencies in tools, lifts, and vehicles.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment.
  • Works alongside Project Managers and Designers to forecast material needs.
  • Oversee compliance of shop safety rules (lockout tagout, etc.), quality of fabrication and warehouse pick, and production schedule to ensure the shop meets standards and keeps up with construction demand.
  • Oversee the tracking and moving of inventory in the shop, and preventive maintenance of machines used by shop personnel (thread shop, weld shop, and warehouse).
  • Electronically generates inventory and purchasing reports.
  • Electronically maintains accurate records of purchases, receipts, and inventory adjustments.
  • Assists with the budget and cost analysis related to inventory.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety policies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
