Job Description

The University of Missouri's Variety Testing Program and Soybean Farming Systems Research and Extension Program seeks a Data analyst and crop modeller to support Research and Extension initiatives. This role involves:

  • Data curation
  • R coding
  • Strong knowledge of mechanistic crop models (preferably DSSAT and APSIM)
  • Data analysis
  • Scientific reporting.

The individual will contribute to ongoing projects focused on developing tools to help farmers select varieties and predict yield outcomes. Proficiency in quantitative analysis and programming is fundamental to this role

Shift

This is a full-time, 40-hour position. Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred candidate will have a PhD in crop science or related field.

Anticipated Hiring Range

The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $17.05-$21.15 hourly.

Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
