The Vice President of Human Resources will lead our people strategy, encompassing workforce planning, succession planning, talent acquisition, employee relations, learning and development, and performance and talent management. This role reports to the President of Viking Electric and is based at our Minneapolis, MN campus.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of implementing changes that increase profits by enhancing and engaging the company culture to achieve optimal results. You will interact with all levels of the organization, from front-line workers to senior leaders. This is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic and strategic HR executive to own a pivotal role in shaping Viking Electric's future by aligning human capital initiatives with long-term business objectives and fostering a high-performance, inclusive culture.

What will you do:




  • Executive leader of the HR team, serve on the leadership team formulating business growth strategies aligned to HR strategy. Serve as a trusted advisor to the President and senior leadership peers.
  • Work with your L&D team to drive Viking Electric's talent strategy. Lead the development and execution of integrated talent strategies, including workforce planning, succession planning, bench development, new associate training and onboarding, and leadership development.
  • Collaborate with leaders to create, implement, and execute a strategic workforce plan and reward system to attract, retain, develop, and appropriately reward employees.
  • Champion a values-driven culture that promotes inclusion, accountability, and continuous improvement across all levels of the organization.
  • Partner with leaders on the delivery and execution of core annual HR processes (e.g., succession planning, performance management, salary reviews, talent reviews).
  • Build and mentor a high-performing HR team, fostering innovation and excellence in all facets of human resources.
  • Work with Legal and Compliance teams to ensure HR policies, programs, and practices meet all regulatory, compliance, and legal requirements.



What you bring with you:




  • Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of leadership experience in all functions of Human Resources. HR executive-level thinking and/or experience.
  • Strategic leadership experience in large and/or medium-sized organizations, with a preference for distribution and/or manufacturing experience.
  • Proven success in leading HR initiatives at all organizational levels.
  • Self-starter with a proactive approach, willing to roll up your sleeves, solve issues, and deliver results in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to be a true business partner and trusted advisor to the President and the entire executive team, with strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  • Experience in managing others and leading initiatives.
  • Desired experience in acquisition activities, including business integration.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with excellent communication, coaching, influencing, and interpersonal skills, able to work effectively with people at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to think strategically while also addressing tactical and operational issues.
  • Proven track record of building strong, effective teams.
  • Ability to travel 20% domestically.
  • Authorization to work for Sonepar / Viking Electric in the US without sponsorship now or in the future.
