Summary of Position: Responsible for cleaning and maintaining the physical facilities (buildings and grounds). Responsible for snow plowing. Completes assigned work orders independently and within a team atmosphere. Responsible for special assignments and projects at the direction of the Facility Operations Manager and Physical Plant Director. Occasional weekend and Holidays as needed for snow plowing. This is a part-time non-benefit eligible position with occasional weekend and holidays as needed for snow plowing.
Hours would be: Monday-Friday 6pm-10pm

Essential Functions

1. Maintain and uphold the College values of Learning, Excellence, Accountability, Diversity, Student Success, Teamwork, Integrity, and Respect. Regular attendance is required. 2. Complete all required College training and responsible for maintaining the skills necessary to complete the essential functions of the position as defined by the department. 3. Student Success is the cornerstone of Western's culture and the college may assign employees as needed to other areas or additional duties to foster this success. 4. Cleaning and Maintenance - Supporting Action/Task May Include:
- Sweep and mop floors and vacuum carpets including treating stains and extraction of carpets
- Dust vertical and horizontal surfaces
- Clean and Sanitize restrooms, drinking fountains, etc. using established practices and procedures
- Clean elevators
- General cleaning and maintenance including cleaning glass, spot cleaning, etc.
- Perform emergency and project-related cleaning
5. Snow Plowing - Supporting Action/Task May Include:
- Plow using mechanical equipment such as skid steer, pick-up trucks with snow plows and box salters, forklifts and trucks with hydraulic dump boxes, Toolcat, Ventrac, etc..
- Physically shovel walkways
- Apply ice melter (through mechanical and physical application)
- Haul snow off site (driving to off-campus location and dumping snow; operating dump truck, skid steer, and end loader)
6. Work Order Completion - Supporting Action/Task May Include:
- Grounds upkeep
- Furniture and equipment moves, pickups and deliveries
- Skilled trades and vehicle maintenance
- Computer and operating systems knowledge along with understanding operating instructions for cleaning equipment and vehicles

- One year experience in a custodial related position
Required Testing:
- Physical (ability to pick up and carry 45 lbs, standing for prolonged periods of time)
- Hearing baseline test and annual audiogram testing
