Production Supervisor - Porter Corp

Summary

The primary purpose of this position is the supervision of hourly personnel and activities in the Lamination production plant. The Lamination production supervisor is responsible for supervising shop employees in a manufacturing environment. This position plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions. This is a working supervisor role which does require floor presence and participating in manufacturing duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Coaches and mentors team members
2. Responsible for department metrics and performance

5. Supervise team leads on 1^st and 2^nd Shift
6. Responsible for annual performance appraisals, disciplinary and termination actions
7. Coordinates, evaluates and provides input regarding the need for new and/or additional equipment
8. Develops, reviews and maintains staffing requirements
9. Coordinates the support from external departments as needed
10. Establishes boundaries
11. Supports and encourages team-building
12. Provides feedback, both positive and negative to others

Education and/or Experience

1. Work requires high school diploma or equivalent
2. Proven experience in a leadership/supervisor role
3. Prior experience in a manufacturing environment
4. Able to operate a hi lo (previous experience or willingness to learn)

Travel

This position requires minimal to no travel

Computer Skills

• Demonstrated proficiency with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access
• Demonstrated proficiency using EPICOR ERP or similar systems
