The Electrical Products Group was recently purchased from Avail Infrastructure Solutions by nVent Electric plc ("nVent") and consists of three business units, Enclosure Systems, Switchgear Systems and Bus Systems. As a part of nVent, theElectrical Products Group is a leading provider of infrastructure solutions, designed to help ensure safe and reliable electrical operations primarily in the infrastructure vertical, including power utilities and data centers. WHAT YOU HAVE:
* EXPERIENCE:A high school diploma or GED is preferred but not
required. Must have 2 to 4 years of relevant experience, including at
least 2 years of welding or experience in production, manufacturing,
or assembly. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will
also be considered.
* SKILLS:Has developed proficiency in a range of processes or
procedures through job-related training and considerable on-the-job
experience.Completes a variety of atypical assignments; works within
defined processes and procedures or methodologies and may help
determine the appropriate approach for new assignments. Works with a
limited degree of supervision and may act as an informal resource for
colleagues with less experience.Ability to use/operate welding
machine, cutting torch, manual plasma cutter, brush, pad, buffer,
grinder, overhead crane, ratchet straps, rubber hammer, stencil, and
tape measure Ability to read blueprints. Ability to understand and
perform basic math.
* CUSTOMER FOCUS: Completes assignments on or ahead of schedule and
accomplishes assigned work in an organized, timely manner. Looks for
ways to improve and promote quality. Calls attention to potential and
actual hazardous conditions. Can be depended upon to be available for
work and to fulfill position responsibilities. Teaches, mentors, and
coaches new or less-skilled employees. Keeps abreast of relevant and
current developments, new technologies, business philosophies,

* CERTIFICATION/ LICENSES: Must have or achieve welding
certification.
WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:
* References blueprint to determine job requirements.
* Gathers necessary materials and performs layout per specifications.
* Sets up welding machine and adjusts settings.
* Operates welding gun to weld steel, aluminum, copper, etc., pieces
together.
* Visually examines welds for adherence to quality standards; rewelds
defective joints and removes surplus slag, flux, and spatter using a
brush, pad, buffer, and/or grinder.
* Operates cutting torch and manual plasma cutter as needed.
* Applies weld stencil and notifies Lead person or Inspector when
product is ready for inspection.
* Performs ongoing housekeeping duties to keep work area clear of
scrap and debris.
