GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

Provides on-the-job working leadership to employees in the assigned areas.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:



  • Provides training assistance to new employees on the line.
  • Assist Supervisors / Assistant Supervisors with verifying hours and accuracy of timesheets.
  • Checks daily availability of necessary materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Works closely with the Supervisor / Assistant Supervisor & the Inspection team to maintain quality and reduce lost time and repairs.
  • Suggest ways to simplify and improve methods and procedures wherever possible.
  • Responsible for observing and enforcing safety practices throughout the plant to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Responsible for company tools checked out for departmental use.


  • Checks that necessary materials, tools, and equipment are available and applicable to requirements.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

This position has limited supervisory responsibilities.

Required Experience:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:



  • Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards.
  • Ability to interact effectively with peers and supervisors.
  • Ability to interact appropriately with the public when necessary.
  • Ability to adhere to workplace rules.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:



  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Five years of relevant experience in a production/manufacturing/quality environment.
  • Basic computer skills are required.
  • Ability to read complicated blueprints.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with others both verbally and in written form.
  • Must be familiar with all duties and requirements of each classification assigned to the department.
  • Must be familiar with and able to use all tools and tooling used on the assigned lines.
  • Must be capable of performing all operations on the assigned line.


WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:



  • Shop Floor environment / shared workbench or workstation
  • Ability to perform repetitive motion (rotating wrists, keyboarding, using small/large tools)
  • Ability to liftiup to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to tolerate constant noise (machine motors large fans)
  • Ability to work safely in the presence of hazardous chemicals and hazardous conditions.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand or sit for long periods of time.
  • The employee frequently is required to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls and to climb or balance.
  • The employee is occasionally required to walk, reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and speak or listen.
  • Ability to follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
