Summary: The Quality Engineering Manager is responsible for leading the quality teams of their respective business unit within the organization. This role manages the partnership between quality and the necessary cross-functional departments in Operations, Sales, Customer Support, and Engineering. The Quality Engineering Manager leads the business unit's processes of quality control, escalations, nonconformances, and analysis.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the New Product Introduction (NPI) Quality, Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE), Operations Quality, Customer Quality, and/or Quality Systems teams based on the respective business unit.
  • Manage day to day activities for quality teams.
  • Work within the quality department and cross-functionally to align efforts and remove roadblocks to address quality issues.
  • Attend customer calls with engineers. Escalate issues to the Quality Director as needed.
  • Partner with cross-functional managers to ensure quality issues are being addressed and escalated appropriately.
  • Mange production and supplier nonconformance responses and escalation for the respective business unit.
  • Lead NPI Quality team to ensure customer requirements are defined and met through engineering specification and risk controls.
  • Partner with Quality Systems team as it pertains to your business unit to address opportunities for CPC Quality Management System to better meet customer needs and compliance to ISO 9001 and 13485.
  • Provide regular updates to Quality Leadership across the organization.
  • Represent the Customer Quality function as the principal customer liaison for CPC customer quality discussions with customers.
  • Oversee all quality control activities, including inspection, testing, and data analysis, to identify and address non-conformances for the Business Unit. Develop and handle corrective and preventive action (CAPA) processes to address quality issues and prevent their recurrence.
  • Act as a quality project leader and a structured problem-solving subject matter expert for driving initiatives within both the quality department and all other functional organizations.
  • Implement and drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize quality and efficiency.
  • Support Supplier Quality and NPI Quality plans and objectives for supplier product qualifications, new product introductions, and engineering changes.
  • Mentor a team of quality professionals, providing training and development opportunities.
  • Lead Quality Engineering to define and implement Process Control & Monitoring systems throughout the product lines.
  • Identify quality initiatives and lead cross-functional teams to complete them and/or escalate to Sr. Management.
  • Provide proactive, diligent, and fact-based communication to Sr. Management team, peers, and team.
  • Oversee the Nonconformance and Real-time data management portions of the Quality System for the Business Unit.
  • Be an effective member of the cross-departmental Functional Management Team.
  • Maintain quality metrics and define/execute activities to resolve decreases in performance.
  • Be a champion of disciplined problem-solving throughout the organization.
  • Proactively works to continuously improve aspects of the role and department.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in science, engineering, or related technical discipline
  • 3+ years of experience in quality leadership
  • Prior leadership or functional experience in New Product Innovation (NPI) Quality, Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE), Operations Quality, Customer Quality, and/or Quality Systems
  • Proficient in the use of Excel, Access, and other analytics tools
  • Self-driven, adaptable and resourceful; able to work under limited supervision

Travel:

  • Minimal, less than 5%
