SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday (8 hours) Position will train for approx. 6 months on day shift and will then transition to evening shift.

JOB SUMMARY: The Parts Room Attendant is responsible for maintaining all areas of inventory control for spare parts as well as assisting customers with parts retrieval along with daily parts room management duties that include performing training and directing activities with tool sharpening and minor part repairs. Work directly with department manager in development and implementation of continuous improvement opportunities as well as policy changes.

ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:



  • Responsible for maintaining the integrity of the spare part room inventories for operating and maintenance parts.
  • Assists associates in determining what part/resources they want or need.
  • Receive freight and restock parts as needed, organizing and maintaining spare parts in clean and orderly fashion.
  • Create work orders for parts and tracking of in-house repairs.
  • Responsible for issuing and receiving tools. Issues and records parts and tools using computer program.
  • Coordinate and report inventory (cycle counting) activities including reconciliation efforts.
  • Communicate with external suppliers and internal customers to confirm parts need and procure it.
  • Develop kits of materials for planned maintenance work.
  • Create reports and track metrics as identified by department manager.
  • Utilize and maintain computerized maintenance management system or any other related inventory databases.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the essential accountabilities satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.)




  • High school diploma or GED required; minimum of 2 years of experience in parts room or warehouse operations, including cycle counting, product receiving, and inventory control



  • Working knowledge of system-based inventory management processes



  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Windows operating systems; experience with purchasing or inventory software preferred



  • Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to interact effectively across departments



  • Basic familiarity with industrial equipment and the ability to accurately identify and manage parts



  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment



  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision



  • Detail-oriented with the ability to follow instructions precisely and consistently



  • Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential

  • Frequent lifting up to 25 lbs. Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.

  • Requires the ability to read, write, calculate and analyze.
  • Requires good visual acuity with depth perception and color vision.
