Job Description
The Director, People Operations & Talent Strategy leads the full employee lifecycle at WireCo, ensuring a seamless experience from hire to retire. Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer, This role integrates operational excellence with strategic talent programs by overseeing U.S. payroll and benefits, HR systems, compliance, talent acquisition, performance management, engagement, and learning. The Director ensures consistent global processes, data-driven insights, and scalable solutions that strengthen both employee experience and business outcomes for both hourly/non-exempt and salaried/exempt employee groups. The Director will also build strong partnerships with regional HR leaders to ensure consistent delivery of operations and programs across geographies. Duties & Responsibilities People Operations
- Lead US payroll and benefits strategy, making plan design and policy decisions while providing guidance and oversight to the Payroll/HRIS Lead who manages daily administration and processing.
- Partner with external benefits broker, vendors, and Finance to evaluate, design, and deliver competitive, compliant programs while ensuring accurate and timely execution.
- Lead annual audit and compliance filing initatives such as 401k audit, EEO-1, workers compensation, and AAP.
- Collaborate with regional HR leaders to ensure consistency and alignment of payroll and benefits practices globally where applicable.
- Maintain expertise in U.S. employment laws and ensure policies, processes, and practices remain compliant and up to date.
- Drive operational improvements, automation, and simplification to improve efficiency, scalability, and overall employee experience.
Global HRIS & Data Governance
- Oversee global HRIS systems to ensure effective configuration, data integrity, and user adoption across all regions.
- Lead global people data governance and conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy, compliance, and reliability.
- Deliver standardized HR reporting and dashboards for HR and business leaders, integrating data across regions.
- Partner with HRBP's and Finance on headcount, retention, and workforce planning analysis.
Talent Acquisition
- Lead WireCo's global talent acquisition strategy, ensuring alignment with business needs, workforce planning, and diversity goals.
- Oversee recruiting operations and provide guidance to the TA Specialist, who manages the day-to-day candidate pipeline, requisition flow, and onboarding coordination.
- Partner with Marketing & Communications to strengthen the employer brand, drive candidate engagement, and support diversity, equity, and inclusion in hiring.
Talent Programs & Strategy
- Oversee global performance management processes (goal setting, mid-year reviews, year-end evaluations, calibrations) with day-to-day execution led by the Talent Programs Lead.
- Support global talent review and succession planning in partnership with HRBPs and business leaders, providing strategic guidance and tools.
- Direct engagement survey strategy and follow-up, with the Talent Programs Lead managing survey administration, reporting, and coordination of action planning.
- Guide learning systems and program delivery, including LinkedIn Learning and leadership development initiatives, while ensuring alignment with business priorities.
- Provide oversight of team effectiveness initiatives and selected leadership programs, partnering with HR leadership and leveraging the Talent Programs Lead for execution.
Leadership & Team Management
- Manage and develop a team including:
- HR Operations Specialist- responsible for US payroll processing, leave of absence administration, and global HRIS transactions
- HR Specialist - responsible for day-to-day recruiting operations and onboarding
- Global Talent Programs Lead (dotted-line) - responsible for global talent program execution
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including leadership in HR operations and/or talent programs
- Demonstrated experience managing U.S. payroll and benefits with strong knowledge of compliance and reporting requirements
- Proven experience overseeing global HRIS systems and people data governance, including data integrity and reporting
- Experience with global data reporting in accordance with GDPR requirements
- Hands-on experience leading talent acquisition operations and strategy
- Strong knowledge of performance management processes, engagement surveys, and learning systems
- Demonstrated ability to analyze HR data and deliver actionable insights to senior leadership
- Excellent leadership and people management skills, with experience coaching and developing team members
- Direct experience working in a global environment, partnering across regions and cultures to deliver consistent HR programs
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field
- Proficient experience using ADP Workforce Now
- Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Familiarity with talent review and succession planning processes
- Experience embedding cultural or business system frameworks into HR programs
- Track record of driving HR process automation and systems implementation
- Strong communication and partnership skills; ability to influence and build trust at all organizational levels
