About the Job

TBLP Coordinator
Leadership Minor, Office of Student Affairs and Office of Undergraduate Education

OVERVIEW
The Tom Burnett Leadership Program (TBLP) is seeking a part-time TBLP Program Coordinator. TBLP is a cohort-based, spring-semester leadership development program.

The small cohort meets weekly to identify and nurture leadership skills. This no-cost experiential program offers workshops and discussions on leadership in transition, maximizing personal strengths and values, and finding alignment between self-perception and personal impact. Students also have an opportunity to apply their learning in a practical context through a mentorship program.

The program is named after Tom Burnett, a UMN alum who was a passenger on United Flight 93 on September 11th. Burnett and a handful of fellow passengers, all ordinary citizens, jumped into action. United Flight 93 crashed into a Pennsylvania field rather than into another American landmark. All on board were killed, but no one on land perished. The support of his family, as well as his personal story of leadership and courage throughout his life, makes this program possible.
