PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Clinical Pastoral Education Program Manager, at the direction of department leadership is responsible for planning, implementing, supervising, and evaluating the Clinical Pastoral Education program. Develops project plans and timelines, bringing together resources as needed. Works with many functional areas throughout Christiana Care. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
SCOPE, PURPOSE AND FREQUENCY OF CONTACTS: Must cross department lines and work with all members of the health care team and various levels of management. Some contact with patients, families, and visitors. Daily contact with students. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Education: M.Div. or equivalent required. BA or BS degree or equivalent preferred. Experience: 2-3 years' experience as ACPE, Inc. Certified Educator required 3-5 years' experience as hospital chaplain preferred. KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS Knowledge of: Supervision for pastoral education Major faith groups Pastoral theology Effective interviewing Pastoral assessment Dynamics of loss and grief Crisis intervention Psychosocial adjustment to illness and hospitalization Medical record documentation Maintain accreditation and certification documentation digitally in accordance to ACPE, Inc requirements. Ability to act proactively and coordinate multiple tasks to meet deadlines while focusing on quality standards. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities. Accountable, dependable, and strong commitment Maintains a positive work environment. Skill or Ability in: Educational supervision Effective interviewing skills Pastoral assessment of religious/spiritual needs Treatment/care planning Intervention in crisis Caring during loss grief Use of religious ritual appropriate to the needs of the hospitalized patient Referral to others Psychosocial assessment (appropriate to role) Maintaining professional working relationships SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Endorsement: Faith group formal recognition as chaplain Certification: Certified Educator, ACPE, Inc. And preferred: Board Certified Chaplain, Association of Professional Chaplains Annual Compensation Range $79,497.60 - $127,212.80 This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare's good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting.
