Scheduled Weekly Hours:

40 Position: Contract Administrator

Department: Contract Services

Reports to: Manager, Contracts

Location: Hybrid with 2 days on-site per week. On-site location is La Crosse.

Position Summary:

Under minimal supervision, the Contract Administrator leads the review and negotiation of contractual agreements to facilitate the closure and administration of contracts in accordance with company policies and legal requirements. This position monitors contractual compliance provides analytical data on contract performance, and is a resource for other departments regarding contract language and interpretations. This position will be responsible for managing the accuracy of the Contract Management Database and serve as the content and application expert for this Database program. This position includes project management and will take full accountability for all work assigned, prioritize and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously. This position may also be called on as a Subject Matter Expert in the ERP implementation project (Workday).

Major Responsibilities:

  • Lead contract efficiency initiatives and manage complex contract negotiations with minimal supervision.

  • Oversee the Contract Management Database, ensuring accuracy and collaborating with IT for upgrades and improvements.

  • Manage the full contracting process for Gundersen Health System and Regional Partners, including risk assessment and compliance.

  • Provide expert guidance on contract terms, pricing, legal obligations, and renewal/termination provisions.

  • Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, and Accounting to protect organizational interests and mitigate contractual risks.

  • Develop training materials, lead special projects, and support continuous improvement through research and cross-functional collaboration.

Education and Learning:

  • Required: Bachelor's degree in Businessor Legal or a related field

  • Desired: Master's degree in Business or a related field or a Juris Doctor (JD) or a Certified Professional Contract Manager (CPCM) through the National Contract Management Association (NCMA) or a similar organization.

Work Experience:

  • Required: 3-5 years experience in business and contract management, including direct negotiations with business clients.

  • Desired: 5-7 years experience in business and contract management, including direct negotiations with business clients.
