We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated individual to fill the position of Mechanical Inspector with our Chemical Manufacturing Facility located in Wichita, Kansas. Essential Job Duties: Maintain protection of the environment and the health and safety of our employees, customers, and the communities in which we operate and/or transport our products, as our highest priority. Perform ultra-sonic thickness checks, visual inspections, and other NDE inspections to evaluate the mechanical integrity of fixed equipment. Maintain detailed plant pipe inspection data base and reference table as well as data input for the corrosion monitoring software. Develop plant pipe inspection circuits. Write, issue for review, and file inspection reports that document piping and equipment deficiencies. Provide technical support for maintenance, troubleshoot equipment failures, and assist with major emergency repairs. Develop and track inspection schedules. Monitor on-site vessel, piping, and tank repairs performed by outside contractors and OxyChem maintenance. Perform post repair inspections. Monitor new construction of vessels, tanks, and piping installations. Perform vendor site fab shop inspections of new and repaired equipment. Maintain Pipe Circuit Drawings (Isometric) current with plant changes. Develop an understanding of Oxy piping standards and their application to process piping. General inspection reports based upon data collected by contract inspectors. Qualifications: High School Diploma or G.E.D. Minimum of 3 years working experience utilizing nondestructive inspection (NDI) services. Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Must be willing to work with engineering, maintenance, production, and outside contractors. Must be willing to work overtime. Must possess valid driver's license. Must hold credentials forASNT Level II Inspector Certification in Ultrasonic Thickness (UT), Visual (VT), Dye Penetrant (PT) and Magnetic Particle (MT) Testing and be familiar with the scope and limitations of each method. Must be able to lift 40 lbs, climb ladders and stairs. Must be able to work at heights and work outdoors continuously. Walking, bending, stooping is required. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment including the use of a respirator. Must be able to respond to visual and audible alarms. Additional Desired Qualifications 5 or more years of mechanical integrity inspection experience in industry. Possesses API certifications (510, 570, 653) A working knowledge of SAP Maintenance software and Mistras PCMS corrosion monitoring software with an ability to learn how to interpret the analytical results given by the software.
