JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS The Penn State College of Health and Human Development's Child Health Research Center (CHRC) is seeking part-time Research Assistants for the Fall 2026 semester. Selected candidates will support multiple ongoing research and outreach projects by assisting with data entry, field-based data collection, kitchen preparation, and a range of administrative and organizational tasks. Most responsibilities will take place in Noll Laboratory, with some activities located at College Heights. Availability for full-day field-based data collection visits (8:30 a.m.-2:00 p.m.) is preferred. Qualified candidateswill demonstrate strong attention to detail, effective organizational and time-management skills, and the ability to follow research protocols accurately. Applicants should be comfortable working both independently and as part of a collaborative research team, communicate professionally with staff and participants, and maintain confidentiality of research data. Prior experience with data collection, data entry, food preparation, or research-related activities is desirable but not required. Reliability, flexibility, and an interest in child health, nutrition, or behavioral research are strongly valued. BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.CAMPUS SECURITY CRIME STATISTICS Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR).
