Job Overview

As an Accounting Intern, you will play a hands-on role in supporting critical financial operations, including month-end close, reconciliations, and reporting. You'll gain practical experience and exposure to tools and processes used by modern finance teams.



This position will be based onsite at our South Harbor location in Milwaukee's Harbor District! The target start date for this role is Spring/Summer 2026 and has potential to be extended into the Fall 2026 school semester. We offer full-time hours during the summer and flexible part-time hours during the academic year.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Month-End Close Support

    • Prepare and process journal entries.
    • Perform monthly account reconciliations and resolve reconciling items.
    • Support variance analysis and ad hoc financial reviews.


  • Reporting & Analysis

    • Generate and distribute weekly and monthly financial reports.
    • Assist in building automated reporting tools using Power BI and AI-enhanced analytics.


  • Asset Audit & Controls


    • Participate in physical audits of Property, Plant, and Equipment (PP&E).
    • Assist in documentation and internal control procedures.



Qualifications/Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Junior, Senior, or Graduate student in good academic standing.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; capable of managing multiple priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking ability; creative and resourceful.
  • Proficiency in:


    • Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
    • Power BI, or similar data visualization tools
    • Familiarity with AI-based tools or automation platforms (a plus)





Preferred Qualifications:



  • Previous classroom and/or work experience in accounting and/or finance.
  • Experience with Journal entry preparation, reconciliation preparation and financial statement review
  • Natural curiosity regarding different aspects of an accounting department
  • Interest in or aptitude to learn about careers in the heavy equipment industry

Hiring Range
