Sr ML Engineer

Overview

Infotech is seeking a Senior ML Engineer to serve as key technical contributor across all AI/ML initiatives. In this role, you'll work with the Senior Director: AI in building the ML function as Infotech grows a team of AI/ML engineers. You'll apply your experience in a range of AI/ML technologies to build, scale, and deploy mission-critical systems with measurable business impact.

What you'll do

As a Sr. ML Engineer, you will hold end-to-end responsibility for complex AI/ML projects, overseeing not only the design and implementation of AI systems but also influencing broader architectural and strategic decisions within the AI/ML ecosystem. In addition to delivering meticulously engineered, production-ready AI/ML code,you will possess deep expertise in at least one major skill critical to the AI/ML lifecycle, such as robust MLOps practices, advanced AI model performance optimization, comprehensive technical documentation for AI systems, or sophisticated integration testing for complex ML pipelines.

You will champion best practices and elevate standards for fellow Infotech AI/ML engineers as well as Software Engineers, regularly contributing to common AI/ML codebases and infrastructure with high-level strategic direction, while actively providing mentorship and guidance for less experienced AI/ML developers.

How you'll do it

• AI Solution Development: Analyze, design, and develop advanced AI/ML applications to solve complex business problems in areas such as recommendation and personalization systems, semantic search, document understanding and agentic orchestration frameworks across various domains (e.g., business management, planning, bidding, pricing, contracts, payments, materials, labor management, documents workflow, or historical data analysis).
• Robust Code Engineering: Consistently write production-ready and test-driven code for AI/ML models and systems, adhering to established design patterns and best practices for scalability, maintainability, and reliability. Leverage deep understanding of machine learning, particularly across natural language processing, and computer vision.
• ML Systems & Data Infrastructure: Contribute to the implementation of scalable ML pipelines and infrastructure within cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure), focusing on operational reliability and performance.
• Complex System Implementation: Lead the implementation of specifications and architectural designs for sophisticated AI/ML-driven software applications and distributed systems, ensuring seamless integration and performance.
• End-to-End Feature Ownership: Drive the end-to-end technical design, development, and launch of independent medium-to-large-scale AI/ML features or components, from ideation and prototyping to deployment and monitoring.
• Advanced Model Evaluation: Apply rigorous scientific analysis, advanced statistical methods, and mathematical models to accurately predict, measure, and optimize the performance, fairness, and business impact of AI/ML models and system designs.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelors degree in related field and 3 years relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

We'd like you to have

• 5+ years of experience across AI and Machine Learning.
• Strong understanding of machine learning, natural language processing, and computer vision.
• Experience transitioning projects and teams from research/prototype to production-grade systems.
• Proven ability to build and deploy ML systems, supporting mid to large user/device bases.
• Track record of developing ML applications with measurable business impact.
• Experience or participation in AI/ML open source is a plus.
• Ability to identify and implement SOTA ML solutions for complex business problems
• Experience mentoring junior engineers.
• Preference will be given to candidates with strong relevant industry experience in civil and infrastructure construction or SaaS construction technology.
