In the role of Senior Civil Engineer, we'll count on you to:
  • Lead site civil engineering design (site layout, Erosion Control, Storm, Grading & Drainage, Utilities) and production efforts for site civil engineering projects related to buildings, facilities, and infrastructure projects across diverse market sectors, including:
    • Residential, commercial, and industrial developments
    • Water/wastewater systems
    • Municipal and federal projects
    • Power and data center facilities
  • Serve as the Civil Engineer of Record.
  • Lead Permitting (Federal, State and local) efforts
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary design teams throughout all project phases-from initial planning through construction documentation and administration.
  • Prepare detailed construction drawings, technical specifications, engineering calculations and reports.
  • Manage permitting processes with federal, state, and local agencies
  • Provide support during the construction phase, such as responding to RFI and reviewing submittals
  • Lead and train a team of CADD designers, EIT's, Site Civil Engineers
  • Serve as a Project Manager on larger projects, although project management is not the sole focus of this position
  • Perform complex assignments exercising judgment in evaluation, selection and modification of standard engineering techniques and procedures
  • Plan and develop projects or design activities that have significant impact on major company programs as needed
  • Assist in developing scope and fee proposals
  • Perform other duties as needed

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline from an ABET-accredited university.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in site civil/land development design for buildings or infrastructure, including:
    • Demolition
    • Erosion control
    • Site layout
    • Stormwater management
    • Grading and drainage
    • Utility design
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, ICPR/Stormwise, WaterCAD, and StormCAD.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within fast-paced, multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to exercise sound engineering judgement with minimal supervision.
  • Experience serving as the Design lead for a team of civil engineering professionals on complex land development projects
  • Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to prioritize
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and proactive, with strong leadership skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality, technically sound designs with minimal supervision.
  • Proven experience serving as Engineer of Record on previous projects.
  • Proposal writing experience
  • Project management experience
  • Prior experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm.
  • Preference given to local candidates.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • A minimum of 10 years design experience managing various civil/site design projects
  • Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.
  • Project Engineering and Project Management experience
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
