Job Description

OB SUMMARY: We are seeking a Senior Engineer of New Product Development to join our team at NH Ball Bearings. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, evaluating and recommending new processes and/or equipment.



DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Develop, evaluate, and recommend new processes and/or equipment to support strategic objectives within the New Produce Development group.
  • Lead and support technical initiatives and tasks.
  • Work directly with end-users to develop and design systems.
  • Work directly with our customers on testing, development and strategic initiatives.
  • Provide leadership, instruction and training to coworkers and others involved in assigned projects, as needed.



JOB SKILLS & ABILITIES:



  • Proficient in process troubleshooting.
  • Proficient at blueprint reading, engineering drawing interpretation and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Understanding of continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency with data mining with a knowledge in data and statistical analysis.
  • Knowledge and understanding of design for manufacturability - rolling element bearing design, manufacturing, failure analysis, and testing a plus.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and presentation skills including project planning and project update communication.
  • Ability to partner effectively with employees at all levels, and work within and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to travel occasionally both domestically and internationally.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:



  • Bachelors' degree in Mechanical Engineering required, Masters preferred.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in manufacturing engineering, R&D engineering, machine design/automation systems.
  • Background in design and troubleshooting for mechanical components and systems.
  • Solid computer skills including MS Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint - and SolidWorks.



PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:



  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, grabbing, twisting, carrying, pushing and pulling.
  • Must be able to physically lift up to 40lbs, when necessary.
