Job Purpose

This position reports to the Manager, NY Electric Data Governance. The Sr Data Governance Analyst plays a pivotal role in establishing, implementing, and ensuring data governance practices through collaboration across business operations and technical functions. This role will support and enable digital projects and processes, and is designed for individuals who excel in governance, policy and process development, and stakeholder engagement.

Key Accountabilities
  • Working with the Data Governance team and partners, design, implement, and manage a comprehensive Data Governance framework: Provide guidance on data standards and tools, develop policies and procedures, gain buy-in on ownership through effective communication and relationship building, and lead communities of practice to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Perform end-to-end review of data requirements while ensuring alignment with the Data Strategy.
  • Conduct data quality assessments and root-cause/impact analysis of data issues. Work with business and IT stakeholders to implement necessary changes and improvements.
  • Develop detailed data-process maps and documentation (current and to-be state).
  • Develop collaborative engagement plans on data management requirements and best practices. Work with stakeholders to execute effective communities of practice.
  • Effectively deliver complex messaging and presentations to diverse audiences to ensure understanding and gain buy-in.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business, information systems, or data-related fields.
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant business experience, preferably with a focus on governance frameworks, process management, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Awareness of Data Management concepts (governance, enablement, quality) and tools (Snowflake, Informatica Suite, Power BI, SQL).
  • Experience conducting structured process analysis, generating well-defined requirements and metrics that support governance initiatives and data-driven solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to deliver complex content concisely and effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders and facilitate discussions around data governance.

Salary: $101,000 - $119,000

This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills. Internal candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
