Ensures the plans and performance of the various functions within the Facilities and Maintenance organization meet or exceed management expectations. Provides leadership to institutionalize the processes of Continuous Improvement in accordance with organization goals and objectives.

Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities

  • Accomplishes results through direct reports and staff working within established organizational objectives. Performs typical responsibilities of management requiring planning, evaluating, organizing, integrating, and coaching. Work is reviewed for adequacy in meeting cost, schedule and quality objectives.
  • Identifies all equipment and systems critical to safety and production flow, and establishes and maintains a vendor base for twenty-four (24) hours emergency procurement and contract manpower for critical outages.
  • Establishes preventative maintenance programs, which ensures maximum economy and reliability as well as compliance with ISO 9000 Standards. Directs routine maintenance and minor repairs on machinery, vehicles, and facilities to ensure the regularity of scheduled tasks with minimum non-scheduled input. Manages the timing, scope, and compatibility necessity for alterations or improvements.
  • Establishes and manages historical data on scheduled and unscheduled tasks for evaluation and maximization of life cycles of equipment and systems. Provides guidance to Stakeholders and teams on development, performance and productivity issues.
  • Manages the Safety Program and activities, and establishes and maintains policies, plans, and procedures for administering a safety program that includes public and industrial safety, safety training, fire prevention, and health.
  • Coordinates safety programs in compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), State, Underwriters', and company safety policies.
  • Initiates the halting of any operation or action, which poses a real or potential hazard to persons, property, equipment, the environment, or security.
  • Directs Hazardous Waste Storage and disposal. Maintains compliant storage and handling of Hazardous Materials. Executes all environmental reports, permits, and files required by law.
  • Establishes and maintains an OSHA compliant incident command and response program. Handles all emergency response and site management during chemical accidents and functions as liaison with all local, state, and federal regulatory agencies.
  • Manages sub-contract services administration, including qualifications, selection, supervision, and negotiations. Coordinates construction activities and equipment installation.

Performs other duties as required. These duties may include assignments in job classifications and departments other than the primary assignment.
Minimum Qualifications Education Requirements

Minimum 4 Year / Bachelors Degree.

If applicable, a combination of experience and training may be substituted for the education requirement.

Skills and Competencies

  • Must be able to read and write the English language, perform basic mathematical calculations and learn to interpret and comprehend company policies, procedures, safety instructions, and other like documents used in an aerospace manufacturing environment.
  • Operates standard office equipment and demonstrates competence in the use of standard software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
  • Makes telephone and direct personal contact with internal and external personnel and makes formal presentations to small or large groups.
  • Trained and certified in hazardous materials, confined space, first responder, incident command, fire prevention, and fire suppression.
  • Mechanical license, stationary engineer license, or contractor license preferred.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations relative to maintenance and construction safety.
  • Reads and interpret blueprints and technical documents.

Work Environment Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the Stakeholder is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
