We are seeking an Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer to join our federal IT team.

As a Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer, you will:




  • Be accountable for helping maintain the JCFS core infrastructure playing a key role in supporting, administering, and maintaining server and desktop systems, along with virtualization technologies
  • Perform administration functions on network and security solutions that include antivirus, endpoint detection and response, and event logging
  • Perform administration on the Office 365/Microsoft 365 suite of solutions and technologies
  • Provide exceptional customer service skills, strong verbal communication and education to end users
  • Design and manage the roll out of critical client endpoint supporting technologies to support the company's end users and services
  • Performs and evaluates technical, cost analysis and development work in planning, design, installation and on-going administration, maintenance and management of the various systems that support desktop infrastructure; to include but not limited to technologies such as Active Directory, Group Policy, Desktop Encryption, ConfigMgr, MS Intune, etc.
  • Configure, administer, maintain, monitor, debug and tune endpoint infrastructure systems to optimize system performance
  • Monitor endpoint infrastructure systems, makes adjustments and performances enhancements where necessary
  • Deploys applications and manages endpoint baseline standards using enterprise management tools.
  • Provide technical expertise to Endpoint Support, Network, Cloud, Core Infrastructure, Telecom, and Security departments to support the development of new product strategies and enhance existing client endpoint supporting technologies.
  • Plan, conduct and oversee the technical aspects of projects; coordinates the efforts of technical support staff in the performance of assigned projects; provides leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnel.
  • Work with IT teams to troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis of problems, develop solutions for problems within the scope of the position and escalate more complex issues in accordance with established processes and procedures
  • Formulate verbal or written reports describing the reported problems or issues, their resolution, and the impact, if any, of the resolution to the management teams.
  • Ensure that endpoint infrastructure operational processes are fully documented and performed as required for internal service level agreements
  • Develop specific metrics and measurements related to application deployments, and OS upgrades. Identify patient impacting devices and prioritize accordingly.
  • Create and maintain documentation for best practices, processes, and procedures. This should include FAQ's for self-service, and support team consumption
  • Evaluate new or existing technologies to drive strategy in relation to JCFS infrastructure needs
  • Consult with other specialists, analysts, technicians, and vendors to discuss using new or existing technologies
  • Research, interpret and apply technically complex data to inform decision-making managers or senior level IT management
  • Supporting the Strategy and Infrastructure for Mobile Device Management, Virtual Desktops (VDI), and Desktop Configuration Management



Required Qualifications:



  • 5+ years' experience installing and administering workstations, laptops, or servers in a desktop support or datacenter support capacity
  • Familiarity with ITIL concepts
  • Proficiency and understanding with Cybersecurity principles.
  • In-depth knowledge & management of on-premise & hyper-scaler (AWS & Azure) based IT infrastructure.
  • In-depth knowledge with EUC, VDI, network, firewall and VPN solutions, and M365.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, confidentiality, and in accordance with JCFS policies and values
  • Ability to learn new applications and programs
  • The ability to obtain and maintain required government security clearances and/or badges as required to perform site duties. (This involves a background/character, criminal history, employment, and credit check.)



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Demonstrated experience working with Cloud and Hybrid Cloud environments.
  • Knowledge and experience working with Mobile Device Management
  • Experience working with and supporting virtual desktops and virtual environments
  • Experience working with server and application deployments
  • Knowledge and proficiency supporting a general Windows environment; preferably with Windows 10



Preferred Education:



  • Bachelor of Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or other related field preferred; or equivalent years of experience
