WORK ASSIGNMENT DETAILS

The Waukesha County Corporation Counsel office is seeking an experienced attorney to join the office as a Senior Attorney. Initial responsibilities for this position will include Chapter 54/55 guardianships and protective placements and providing legal services to one or more assigned County departments.

The Senior Attorney position requires graduation from an accredited law school, admission to the Bar of the State of Wisconsin, and at least three (3) years of work experience as a practicing attorney including legal research, pretrial preparation and trial of cases. Prior legal experience in the areas of guardianships/protective placements is strongly preferred. Municipal/government and civil litigation experience is beneficial.

Additional responsibilities may include: mental health commitments (back-up), contract review and other duties as may be assigned.

Senior Attorney starting salary range is $99,757 - $125,299 based upon experience.Full range extends to $150,821.

The Corporation Counsel office may consider under-filling this position as an Attorney position instead of a Senior Attorney position. Attorney starting salary range is $86,174 - $102,918. Full range extends to $119,662.
