Job Summary


The Validation Technician will be responsible for product testing and reporting. This technician shall operate tensile testers, moisture analyzers, thermal chambers, UV chambers, as well other types of gages and setups. Tests are used to validate new products, test prototypes, and provide statistical information. This person will also be responsible for designing of new test fixtures, writing test plans, and performing tests that support research. This will be achieved while maintaining HellermannTyton's various certifications and supporting all corporate policies, procedures, work instructions and required documentation.


Essential Functions:



  • Perform mechanical, thermal, vibration, UV, and chemical testing on HellermannTyton products.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot lab equipment.
  • Write and coordinate test plans with design engineers, quality assurance, processing technicians, and any other department or individual which requires Validation testing.
  • Write test reports for internal and external customers.
  • Generate statistical information and interpretations of data.
  • Use lean methodology to perform project tasks.
  • Research and understand test methods such as ASTM, ISO, and military specifications.


Other Functions



  • Contribute to the company and department objectives and goals.
  • Communicate with customers, suppliers, and project team members throughout all aspects of the business.
  • Perform research on new or used testing equipment which the lab can use for obtaining results.
  • Organize and prioritize daily activities to meet required deadlines.


Success in this role will require



  • Ability to operate tensile testers, environmental chambers, moisture analyzers, and UV chambers.
  • Ability to inspect and measure products using calipers, gages, and stereoscopes.
  • Ability to design and build test fixturing.
  • Ability to create lab reports using MS Word and Excel.
  • Ability to analyze and explain statistical information.
  • Provide quality technical writing using proper English and grammar.


What You'll Bring



  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in a testing lab is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of statistical terms.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Windows and Office products.
  • Employs excellent analytical skills using scientific knowledge and statistical calculations.
  • Actively practices Lean and Six Sigma basics.
  • Has a high mechanical aptitude and is detail orientated.
  • Has a motivated, innovative, and professional skill set.
  • Has an aptitude for reading, writing, and interpreting technical papers.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, with an acceptable driving record, along with adequate insurance.
