Overview

Orrick currently has an excellent opportunity for a Tax Analyst at the Global Operations & Innovation Center in Wheeling, WV.


Responsibilities

As a Tax Analyst, you will prepare, analyze, and file the tax returns for all of the Firm's entities worldwide including federal and state income taxes, business property, excise taxes, sales and use tax and assistance with the preparation of K-1s. Additional responsibilities include assisting in the processing and administration of the Investment LLC's, preparing forms, payment requests, journal entries, spreadsheets and special projects as required.

  • Prepare and file miscellaneous tax returns including business, property, excise and multi-state use tax returns and including non-US returns as needed.
  • Prepare year-end tax schedules for the Firm's external accountants and auditors for all jurisdictions.
  • Prepare information and analyses for the profit sharing for jurisdictions outside the US.
  • Prepare estimated calculations and payments for the Firm's entities and partners.
  • Prepare necessary schedules needed for the preparation of partners' K-1s or other jurisdictional documents.
  • Respond to audits and notices by taxing agencies.
  • Prepare the budget for accounts including tax and professional services.
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of the Firm's partner portal web page.
  • Assist with the administration of the Investment LLC's including preparation of financial statements, distribution calculations, and maintaining contact information of the members.
  • Use technology to assist with the preparation of forms and documents.
  • Work within the accounting system to record journal entries and compile data for financial calculations.
  • Perform miscellaneous other special projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Two to five years of relevant work experience.
  • Tax or partnership accounting or CPA a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word and other Microsoft applications.
  • Strong analytical skills.

Compensation and Benefits

The expected salary range for this position is between $47,000.00 and $66,000.00.

Orrick is committed to providing a comprehensive, competitive, and thoughtful total compensation package to our attorneys and staff, wherever they work. This compensation and benefits information is based on the Orrick's estimate as of the date of publication and may be modified in the future. The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors that may include, but not limited to, qualifications, relevant experience or education, particular skills or expertise, geography. Other compensation may include an annual discretionary merit bonus, which would be determined by Firm and individual performance.
