The Land Development Business Unit is seeking a Junior Civil Engineer in Tustin, CA.

DEA is currently seeking a dynamic and motivated Junior Civil Engineer to join our team in Tustin, CA, focusing on site design projects. As a Junior Civil Engineer, you will have the opportunity to contribute to various aspects of land development projects, gaining valuable experience in site planning, grading, drainage, and utility design. This position is ideal for an entry-level professional looking to grow their career in civil engineering.

What You'll Do Key Responsibilities:
  • Site Planning and Layout:

o Assist in the development of site plans, considering factors such as layout, grading, and utility placement.

o Collaborate with senior engineers to integrate design components into comprehensive project plans.

  • Grading and Drainage Design:

o Contribute to grading and drainage design activities under the guidance of senior team members.

o Assist in the preparation of calculations and plans related to site development.

  • Utility Design:

o Learn and contribute to the design of site utilities, including water, sewer, and stormwater systems.

o Collaborate with the team to ensure utility designs align with project requirements.

  • Technical Support:

o Utilize design software (such as Civil 3D, AutoCAD) to assist in creating detailed plans and drawings.

o Provide technical support in the preparation of project documentation.

  • Project Coordination:

o Work closely with project teams to ensure effective coordination and communication.

o Assist in project scheduling, task tracking, and milestone identification.

  • Learning and Development:

o Actively engage in ongoing learning to enhance technical skills and stay current with industry trends.

o Seek mentorship from senior team members to accelerate professional growth.

What You Bring Required Qualifications:
  • Education:

o Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.

  • Experience:

o 0-3 years of experience; previous internship or coursework related to civil engineering is a plus for a new college grad.

  • Technical Skills:

o Basic knowledge of civil engineering principles and design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D).

o Eagerness to learn and apply new technical skills.

  • Communication:

o Strong written and verbal communication skills.

o Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Adaptability:

o Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.
