Our Company

Changing the world through digital experiences is what Adobe's all about. We give everyone-from emerging artists to global brands-everything they need to design and deliver exceptional digital experiences! We're passionate about empowering people to create beautiful and powerful images, videos, and apps, and transform how companies interact with customers across every screen.

We're on a mission to hire the very best and are committed to creating exceptional employee experiences where everyone is respected and has access to equal opportunity. We realize that new ideas can come from everywhere in the organization, and we know the next big idea could be yours!

About the Role

GenAI is evolving at breakneck speed. Every month brings new foundation models, research breakthroughs, and capabilities that could reshape what's possible in marketing. Adobe GenStudio needs someone who can navigate this rapidly changing landscape, identify opportunities before they become obvious, and ensure our products stay at the cutting edge.

As Principal Product Manager for Content Generation, you will serve as GeoStudio's product lead for GenAI innovation. You'll track foundation model updates from Google, OpenAI, Anthropic, Meta, and others. You'll read research papers from arXiv, NeurIPS, and CVPR to spot emerging capabilities. You'll experiment with new APIs, evaluate performance vs. cost tradeoffs, and determine which innovations should influence our roadmap. Most importantly, you'll translate technical breakthroughs into practical product capabilities that help marketers create better content faster.

This is a technical and strategically critical role that requires equal parts of AI expertise, product instincts, and understanding of market trends. You'll partner closely with Research, Engineering, and Product teams across GenStudio Applications to build the GenAI foundation that powers all GenStudio.

Why This Role Matters

Generative AI is redefining what's possible in content creation. The companies that move fastest and most thoughtfully will win. But speed without strategy leads to poor user experiences, wasted engineering effort, and missed opportunities.

This role ensures GenStudio makes smart bets on which AI capabilities to build, when, and how. You'll help Adobe stay ahead of the curve while building products that marketers need-not just showcasing cool AI features.

You'll be working at the frontier of AI, translating breakthroughs into products used by millions of marketers. If you're energized by rapid innovation, love diving deep into research, and want to shape how AI transforms marketing-this is your role.

What You'll Do

Foundation Model Intelligence & Strategy

  • Continuously monitor and evaluate updates from leading AI companies (Google, OpenAI, Anthropic, Meta, Midjourney, Runway, Eleven Labs, Stability AI, and emerging players)

  • Assess new capabilities in image, video, audio, and text generation for marketing relevance

  • Maintain a living competitive intelligence framework comparing model capabilities, costs, quality, speed, and marketing-specific features

  • Identify which models and capabilities should be integrated into GenStudio and when

Research Translation & Applied Innovation

  • Regularly review research papers from arXiv, major AI conferences (NeurIPS, ICML, CVPR, ACL, ICLR), and corporate research labs

  • Identify research breakthroughs with potential marketing applications 6-18 months before they become mainstream

  • Work with Adobe Research to explore how cutting-edge techniques (e.g., controllable generation, style transfer, video editing, prompt optimization) could be applied to marketing workflows

  • Translate complex research into clear product opportunities and requirements

  • Prototype experimental features using new models and techniques to validate product hypotheses

Generative Foundation Architecture

  • Partner with Engineering and Research to define the generative infrastructure that powers GenStudio Applications

  • Design abstraction layers that allow GenStudio to leverage multiple foundation models while maintaining consistent user experiences

  • Define requirements for prompt engineering systems, fine-tuning pipelines, and model orchestration

  • Establish evaluation frameworks for assessing generation quality, brand consistency, and marketing effectiveness

  • Build strategies for balancing quality, cost, latency, and scale across different use cases

Multimodal & Advanced Capabilities

  • Explore and prototype multimodal generation (text-to-image-to-video pipelines, audio-visual synchronization, etc.)

  • Evaluate capabilities like video editing, style consistency, brand fine-tuning, and dynamic creative optimization

  • Investigate controllable generation techniques that give marketers precise creative control

  • Stay ahead of emerging formats and channels (e.g., spatial computing, immersive experiences)

Market & Competitive Analysis

  • Track how competitors (Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud competitors, marketing platforms) are leveraging GenAI

  • Understand which generative capabilities are becoming table stakes vs. differentiators

  • Identify white space opportunities where Adobe can lead

  • Monitor changes in commercial licensing, copyright, and responsible AI regulations that affect generative products

  • Maintain awareness of marketer attitudes, concerns, and adoption barriers for GenAI

Experimentation & Validation

  • Build rapid prototypes to test new capabilities with internal teams and select customers

  • Design experiments to measure the impact of new models or techniques on content quality and marketing performance

  • Partner with Data Science to establish benchmarks for evaluating generation quality

  • Validate that technical innovations actually solve marketer problems and improve outcomes

What You Need to Succeed

Required Experience

  • 8+ years in product management with at least 2 years focused on AI/ML products

  • Deep technical background in machine learning, particularly generative AI (previous experience as an ML engineer, research scientist, or similar is highly valued)

  • Demonstrated ability to read, understand, and translate research papers into product opportunities

  • Track record of shipping successful AI-powered products that customers love

  • Experience working at the intersection of technical innovation and user-facing products

  • Proven ability to influence without authority across Research, Engineering, and Product organizations

GenAI Fluency

  • Demonstrated ability to identify high-value use cases for GenAI in analytical and insights workflows

  • Understanding of LLM capabilities, limitations, and best practices for building reliable AI-powered products

  • Experience thinking through trust, transparency, and explainability in AI-driven recommendations

Technical Expertise

  • Strong understanding of generative AI architectures (diffusion models, transformers, GANs, etc.)

  • Hands-on experience with foundation model APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, etc.)

  • Ability to prototype using Python, notebooks, and common ML frameworks

  • Understanding of prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and model evaluation techniques

  • Familiarity with MLOps, model serving infrastructure, and production AI systems

Core Competencies

  • Intellectual curiosity: Voracious learner who stays current in a rapidly evolving field

  • Technical translation: Can explain complex AI concepts to non-technical stakeholders

  • Strategic foresight: Spots trends early and understands their second-order implications

  • Product judgment: Knows which innovations matter for users vs. which are just hype

  • Bias for action: Prototypes and experiments rather than just analyzing

  • Collaboration: Builds strong partnerships across Research, Engineering, and Product

  • Communication: Clear, compelling storyteller who can influence senior leaders

Nice to Have

  • Graduate degree (MS or PhD) in Computer Science, AI/ML, or related field

  • Published research in generative AI or related fields

  • Previous experience at an AI-first company or leading AI research lab

  • Background in creative tools or marketing technology

  • Proven understanding of digital marketing channels, attribution models, and campaign measurement methodologies. Familiarity with marketing technology ecosystems.

  • Understanding of how large enterprises approach marketing measurement, governance, and optimization

  • Active presence in the AI community (GitHub contributions, conference presentations, thought leadership)
