Job Description

At IPS, we are global leaders in developing innovative solutions for the consulting, architecture, engineering, project controls, procurement, construction management, and CQV of technically complex facilities, primarily in the life sciences industry. We are looking for a dedicated Regional Operations Director to join our talented team at our office located in Emeryville, California.

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and implementing our corporate strategy for regional growth, for each of our vertical business lines (Design, Construction, Compliance, and Project Controls). You will also be responsible for the growth of all IPS services in the region: Consulting, Engineering and Design, Construction Management, Compliance, and Project Controls.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Represents and champions the cause of the Regional Office.
  • Creates a professional atmosphere in the regional office and looks after its well-being.
  • Coordinates all activities, including social activities, in the regional office.
  • Communicates the regional office requirements to the corporate office.
  • Provides direct connection/link with the corporate office.
  • Supports the development of corporate strategies and implements those strategies in the Region.
  • Ensures that high-quality management, administrative, and technical services are provided by the Regional Office.
  • Assists the Divisions (Design, Construction, Compliance, and Project Controls) in achieving their annual revenue and profit goals from the regional office.
  • Develops and manages relationships with key accounts in the region.
  • Closely coordinates business development activities with the corporate office.
  • Supports the corporate strategic initiatives as Business Development, Regional Office Development, and Management functions mature and can be delegated.
  • Provides support to each division in managing the budget and business plan of the region.
  • Facilitates hiring and retaining personnel supporting the region.
  • Ensures that all employees within the region are properly managed, trained, and in compliance with policy and regulations.
  • Instills a positive work environment and facilitates effective staff development efforts.
  • Manages and maintains an administrative staff that provides needed support while minimizing Controls administrative costs.
  • Makes presentations to prospective clients and leads presentations for proposals and projects.
  • Develops and supports corporate strategic initiatives such as IPS 4.0, Business Development, and Regional Office Development

The salary offered for this role is between $214,000 and $286,000, but the actual salary offered is dependent on experience, skill set, and education.


Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • 15+ years of diversified engineering, construction, or cGMP qualification experience, at least 5 of which have been in a management capacity consisting of oversight of planning, designing, construction, and qualification of engineering services.
  • Progressive ability, capacity, and aptitude in business administration with the ability to plan, organize, supervise, and coordinate cGMP technical work.
  • Proven ability to obtain cooperation through the use of analytical thinking, structured problem-solving skills, superior communication skills, team building, and a strong work ethic.

Context, Environment, & Safety

  • Travel duration, if any, is based on project complexity and location.

This position is a safety-sensitive position. The employee is designated for field work and attends activities at client sites where they work in construction, process, packaging, manufacturing, research, or other "non-administrative" areas.

All interviews are conducted either in person or virtually, with video required.
