Engineer, Hydraulic Laboratory

York, PA

Summary -

The laboratory engineer will be responsible for leading the successful and efficient assembly, installation, alteration, and storage of the model machines. This role will also be responsible for coordination of the laboratory equipment and building maintenance and capable of operating and troubleshooting the laboratory test stand. This role requires knowledge and experience in manufacturing of small components and complex assemblies.

Responsibilities -



  • Plan and coordinate the on-time assembly, installation, alteration, and storage of the model machines
  • Interface with model design and testing teams to ensure overall success of model test programs
  • Create and maintain work instruction procedures for model assembly and installation
  • Perform continuous improvement, standardization, and streamlining of model assembly tasks
  • Coordinate dimensional inspections to assess the geometric characteristics of manufactured parts to verify their compliance with design specifications and homology requirements.
  • Communicate, track, and document geometry deviations to design values and coordinate disposition
  • Manage and coordinate maintenance of hydraulic laboratory equipment and building
  • Operation and troubleshooting of laboratory test stand and circuit



Qualifications -



  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
  • 4+ years of experience in mechanical design and/or manufacturing
  • Experience in a manufacturing/assembly setting working with small parts and complex assemblies
  • Experience working in a collaborative environment; leadership experience is preferred
  • Ability to maintain schedules/deadlines and concisely communicate engineering ideas

  • The employee is also required to talk and/or hear in an office setting (noise level is low) and manufacturing setting (PPE required). The employee is frequently required to stand and walk in an office or manufacturing environment from 4-8 hours. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; lift; stoop, or crouch.
  • The vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception and adjust focus.
