Some Typical Duties & Responsibilities Include:

The hourly base rate of pay for this internship starts at $18.00, and may increase based on major and class standing.

Support the team by reviewing monthly boundary artifacts to ensure documentation accuracy and compliance. Gain hands-on experience with security tools by performing log reviews in Splunk, learning vulnerability management processes through Tenable, and exploring additional aspects of cybersecurity operations. Working alongside ISSOs, AISSOs, and technical staff, contributing to ongoing security initiatives while developing practical skills in monitoring, risk identification, and boundary support.

Required Qualifications

Must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5.

Must be a full-time student at an accredited four-year college or university, or within one year after finishing a degree program.

Must have completed freshman year of college.

Must successfully complete Savannah River Site General Employee Training and substance abuse processing.

Bachelor's degree in cyber security, IT, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Entry level or greater experience as a systems administrator, information/cyber security analyst
- SANS and/or ICS2 certification in at least one cyber security capability

Security Clearance Information

SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
