Job Summary

The Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine is currently seeking a Associate Director of GME to join our team of professionals

Duties:

Directs system-wide Graduate Medical Education (GME) program staff, including program administrators, managers, and coordinators. This includes hiring, training, evaluation, and HR responsibilities. Provides an engaging work environment for all team members.

Implements strategies and policies set by the Director of GME, translating high-level directives into actionable plans for program supervisors.

Partners with stakeholders, consultants, departments, and staff to develop and coordinate strategies that advance GME program development and success while ensuring the goals and objectives of the GME office are clearly communicated and effectively achieved.

Works with stakeholders, consultants, other departments, and staff to develop and coordinate strategies for GME program development and success.

Leads, implements, and simultaneously manages a variety of operational initiatives in collaboration with Program Directors, faculty, staff, residents/fellows, and leadership.

Monitors and evaluates the performance of program supervisors and their staff, providing feedback and development opportunities.

Oversees program-level budgets and resource allocation. Recommends operating budgetary needs for assigned areas of responsibility. Ensures timely and accurate monthly financials by all programs including tracking of accruals, and employee and faculty reimbursements.

Ensures all programs adhere to Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) and institutional requirements. Maintains up-to-date knowledge on current and future changes to accreditation standards, and provides ongoing training to program administrator staff.

Oversees compliance with use of the residency management software and coordinates training for support staff.

Analyzes data and information, prepares reports, and delivers presentations to leadership on program performance, challenges, and achievements, and provide necessary recommendations

Facilitates communication between program supervisors and upper management, ensuring information flows effectively in both directions.

Collaborates with other office leaders to develop and maintain partnerships throughout the University and with external partners in order to attain departmental goals and objectives.

Assure all new trainees are appropriately oriented to the institution.

Serves as a liaison among functional areas, other departments, and clinical partners.

Establishes communication for planning purposes with related organizational units to meet operational goals.

Ensures compliance with FIU policies, procedures, practices and programs, and with federal, state and local legal/regulatory standards.

Performs other related duties as assigned or as directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.

Helps lead change in accordance with change management plans to control scope, cost, and contracts.

Addresses program-level concerns and escalates significant issues when necessary.

Executes and monitors adherence to GME policies developed by senior leadership.



Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and six (6) years of appropriate experience, or Master's degree and four (4) years of experience.



Desired Qualifications

Three years of Administrative Healthcare experience and/or experience in Undergraduate and/or Graduate Medical Education.
