Summary: The Compensation Manager leads the strategic design and execution of UNC Health's compensation programs to ensure internal equity, market competitiveness, and regulatory compliance. This role oversees a team of Compensation Consultants, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment that supports professional growth and high performance. By analyzing labor market trends and leveraging data-driven insights, the Manager drives continuous improvement and informed decision-making across compensation operations. Partnering closely with HR leadership and organizational stakeholders, the Manager co-creates solutions to compensation challenges, champions change initiatives, and ensures alignment with UNC Health's mission, vision, and strategic goals. Responsibilities: Compensation - Leads the development and execution of compensation strategies that promote internal equity, external competitiveness, and regulatory compliance. Continuously evaluates and recommends process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of compensation operations. Monitors labor market trends and analyzes external data to assess potential impacts on UNC Health. Identifies UNC Health's positioning within local and national markets and formulates data-driven solutions to maintain competitive compensation practices. Collaborates with HR leadership to shape the strategic direction and ongoing evolution of UNC Health's compensation programs. Delivers regular reporting and analytics to support informed decision-making and transparency in compensation management. Management - Leads and develops a team of Compensation Consultants responsible for designing and implementing compensation strategies that attract, retain, and reward top talent. Fosters a culture of innovation by encouraging the team to think creatively and strategically about compensation solutions. Effectively delegates responsibilities, providing clear direction, mentorship, and support to ensure successful execution of initiatives and professional growth within the team. Collaboration - Partners with key HR functions to ensure clear and consistent communication of compensation programs. Builds strong relationships with leaders across UNC Health to co-create innovative solutions to compensation challenges, positioning the compensation function as a strategic enabler of organizational success. Works in close alignment with the Executive and Specialty Compensation Manager to support and advance system-wide compensation initiatives. Leading People - Provides strategic leadership to Compensation Analysts, aligning team efforts with UNC Health's mission, vision, and organizational goals. Other information: Education Requirements: * Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline. Licensure/Certification Requirements: * No licensure or certification required. Professional Experience Requirements: * Seven (7) years of experience in complex Compensation administration to include two (2) years of supervisory/management level experience.
