The Azure Compute Node Services Group oversees the lifecycle and operations of Azure servers and virtual machines, ensuring they run efficiently and securely.As a Principal Software Engineer, you will collaborate with a global network of professionals to build and support workflows for Azure servers. This includes working across both Windows and Linux platforms and developing software in Rust for Azure Boost. Your contributions will focus on achieving high standards in performance, reliability, security, availability, serviceability, and supportability. ResponsibilitiesActs as an expert for Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) and monitors other engineers across product lines, working on call to monitor system/product/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions.Leads identification of dependencies and the development of design documents for a product, application, service, or platform.Optimizes, debugs, refactors, and reuses code to improve performance and maintainability, effectiveness, and return on investment (ROI).Lead technically, raise standards, and maintain a results-driven culture.Collaborate within Azure to develop platforms for managing and monitoring at scale.Serve as a role model for an open, honest, and inclusive approach to problem-solving.Seeks new knowledge and adapts to emerging trends, technical solutions, and patterns to enhance the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products. Also promotes consistency in monitoring and operations at scale and shares knowledge with other engineers.
