Quality Team Lead
Position Overview

At Aurora Flight Sciences, we design, build, and fly advanced aircraft and enabling technologies from concept to reality. We are searching for a talented and self-motivated Quality Team Lead to help us create the future of flight. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

Responsibilities

The Quality Team Lead supervises and coordinates activities of assigned personnel and implements and administers policies and procedures. Oversees inspection and testing of materials, parts and products to ensure adherence to established standards of strength, quality and endurance. Develops and provides leadership to customer-focused team. Identify, coordinate and process continuous Quality Improvement activities in accordance with organizational goals and objectives.

- Assist Product Quality Manager to prepare and adjust schedules to meet priorities.
- Assign daily work tasks to assigned personnel as required.
- Maintain records and reports of group activities as required.
- Work with Product Quality Manager in resolving problems and developing methods and practices to assure department capability.
- Monitor and implement adherence to all safety and department procedures, practices, and directives. - Assist in estimating time and materials for special projects and assignments.
- Report all personnel problems and injuries to Product Quality Manager.
- Provide guidance to subordinate personnel for technical questions or assistance.
- Routinely perform work of subordinate personnel.
- May be required to perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

- Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 4 or more years' quality or aerospace manufacturing or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor, 3 years' related work experience, etc.).
- Demonstrable skill in using precision rulers, calipers, micrometers, bore gages, and other similar inspection tools.
- Able to document inspection results clearly citing prescribed requirements.
- Ability to work from digital work instructions, blueprints, drawings, 3D models, manufacturing specs & work orders. - Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated leadership ability.
- Must be a US Person.

Preferred Requirements

- AAS degree in Quality or related discipline from an accredited university.
- ASQ certified quality inspector (CQI).
- Minimum of 3 years Quality 2D inspection experience.
- 7+ years' experience in aerospace manufacturing environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate+5 years' related work, Bachelor+2 years' related work, etc.).
- Experienced in carbon composite aerospace manufacturing processes.
- Exposure to 3-dimensional inspection methods.
- Familiar with CAI (computer aided inspection) methods and techniques.
- Able to effectively use MS Office suite of tools.
- Comfortable with using the current ERP system (SAP).

Physical Requirements

- Must be able to work alternate shifts, overtime, and weekends when required.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and wear proper PPE.
- Ability to transport objects up to 35 pounds as well as consistently stoop, crawl, bend, crouch, climb and kneel.
- Pass annual visual acuity exams.
- Physical dexterity sufficient to use 2-dimensional hand inspection tools and equipment.
- Work onsite in Columbus, MS.

Salary Range (Annualized USD)

  • Minimum Range: $42,000.00 to $74,000.00
  • Maximum Range: $47,000.00 to $84,000.00
