Join our team as a Patient Access Specialist at Gundersen Health System, where your attention to detail and customer service skills will play a vital role in supporting our patient and the organization. In this role, you'll provide financial clearance and pre-registration support for scheduled patients, creating cost estimates for upcoming appointments, help secure accurate demographic and insurance information, verify referrals and authorizations are in place, and communicate patient liability prior to services. You'll be a key player in the revenue cycle process, working closely with clinical departments and insurance carriers to ensure estimate accuracy. What's Available:

  • 1.0 FTE, 40 hours/week, 8-hour shifts

  • Monday - Friday between the hours of 7:00am - 5:30pm (no weekends or major holidays)

  • Remote eligible after completion of training

  • Location: Onalaska

What You Need:

  • High school diploma or equivalency

  • Successful completion of defined core competency testing

  • 1 year experience in an office setting requiring customer service responsibilities

  • Time management and organization skills

  • Healthcare experience and familiarity with patient eligibility, insurance, or registration scheduling is a plus!
