Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Valiant is looking for a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team!

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform intermediate and direct support level maintenance for commercial heavy-duty vehicles and equipment.
• Provide general and direct support for buses, heavy trucks, industrial forklifts, large generators and heavy-duty trailers.
• Use diagnostic equipment and technical manuals for identifying maintenance faults and repairs.
• Perform maintenance at maintenance shops and in the field.
• Operate recovery vehicles such as car haulers or wreckers.
• Operate forklift and tractor.
• Work in various weather conditions.
• Work weekends and shift work.
• Follow all environmental and safety rules.
• Other duties as required.

• 3+ years' experience as a heavy equipment mechanic on heavy-duty vehicles and equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals.
• Ability to follow written and verbal directions.
• Must be able to travel unaccompanied to continental US and foreign locations.
• Must possess a valid La Class D chauffeur's license or obtain one within the first 90 days of hire to maintain employment.
• Must submit to and pass pre-employment drug screening; will be subject to random drug screening.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE: Previous maintenance and/or mechanical experience on the MSC.
