We are seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join the Dax Core team, a strategic part of the HLS Platform. This role is central to reducing clinician effort and enhancing patient outcomes by integrating AI into daily workflows with minimal friction. The team operates in a fast-paced, learning-rich environment at the forefront of AI development, focusing on integrating cutting-edge solutions rather than building them from scratch. As a Principal Software Engineer, you will lead the design and development of AI-integrated services that streamline clinician workflows. You will collaborate across teams to ensure production-grade quality, scalability, and security in healthcare solutions. Your work will involve applying software design principles, managing live site operations, and contributing to cross-team initiatives that deliver impactful AI-centric services for both internal and external Microsoft customers. While the team builds AI models, this role emphasizes integrating advanced AI capabilities into clinician workflows, leveraging Microsoft's AI ecosystem and trusted third-party solutions to deliver real-world value in healthcare settings. ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include: Partners with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements and incorporate insights into designs. Lead the incorporation of continuous feedback loops to measure customer value and usage patterns.Lead architecture discussions, create proposals, and work together with other team members. Ensure system architecture meets security and compliance requirements while taking observability, reliability and global scaling into account.Own delivery of new features and services end-to-end, including relevant cloud infrastructure changes. Produce maintainable and testable code at high quality. Provide expertise in coding and validation strategy, and ensure code meets quality standards.Leads by example and mentors others to produce extensible and maintainable code used across products.Leverages subject-matter expertise of cross-product features with appropriate stakeholders (e.g., project managers) to drive multiple group's project plans, release plans, and work items.Holds accountability as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI), mentoring engineers across products/solutions, working on-call to monitor system/product/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions.Proactively seeks new knowledge and adapts to new trends, technical solutions, and patterns that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale and shares knowledge with other engineers.Primary owner within the team of the upcoming FedRamp medium system deploymentEmbody our culture and values. | |
