To thrive as an Automation Controls Engineers, you'll need a strong blend of technical expertise, hands-on experience, and multi-functional collaboration. You will be expected to program and provide maintenance of PLCs, controls, and robotic systems that power our Operations team. In this role, you'll collaborate closely with maintenance mechanics, operations, and engineering teams to own the building, installation, and optimization of automated systems. You'll lead process improvements and bring innovative automation solutions to life - solving complex challenges to keep operations running efficiently. Success in this position requires strong communication, project management, and hands-on technical skills, as you'll work both independently and cross-functionally to deliver impactful results.

What we're looking for:

  • Take ownership of automation systems. Install, program, and fine-tune PLCs, HMIs, and control systems to keep production running at peak performance.
  • Be the go-to troubleshooter and quickly resolve technical issues - provide hands-on support for automated operations equipment.
  • Lead process innovation - support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives with strong project management skills.
  • Assist in sourcing and integrating new automation equipment for material handling, processing, and packaging.
  • Keep systems secure and organized. Maintain documentation and ensure critical data backups are always up to date.
  • Develop and test new programs for control processors and HMIs, and refine existing ones to meet evolving needs.
  • Current work with innovative technology is preferred. (i.e: Rockwell Allen Bradley PLCs, Studio 5000, RSLogix 500, FactoryTalk, Cognex, Keyence, and Fanuc Robots).
  • A completed high school education or GED is required, while a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is a plus.
  • Occasional out-of-state travel (up to 10%) to support exciting multi-site projects.
  • Some weekends or holidays may be needed to keep critical operations and projects on track.
