      About the Office of the Provost: The Office of the Provost furthers Georgia Tech's academic mission learning through teaching and research by providing the leadership, support, and services that enable the personal and intellectual growth of our students, faculty, staff, and the academic community. The Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs is the chief academic officer of the Institute. All academic and related units, including the colleges, the library, and professional education, report to the Provost. Additionally, the Provost administers the budgets of these units. The Provost oversees academic and budgetary policy and priorities, ensures the quality of the student body, and maintains educational excellence. In addition, the Provost also has oversight responsibility for issues associated with the recruiting, hiring, retention, and performance of faculty and academic administrators and for the Institute's promotion. Office of Undergraduate Education and Student Success (OUESS) This position supports the Office of Undergraduate Education and Student Success under the Office of the Provost and requires close collaboration with a variety of stakeholders, constituents, and administrators. In addition to reviewing and approving financial transactions and reconciling accounts, the Accountant will also be responsible for offering financial guidance to unit administrators. Job Summary
      The Accountant is responsible for overseeing accounting functions, analysis and reconciliation of financial transactions; examination, investigation, audit and review of records, reports, financial statements, information systems, and management practices to ensure compliance with regulations and policies and efficient and effective operations; This role is critical in developing and implementing procedures to ensure uniform accounting practices, internal controls, and compliance with federal, state, local regulations and Institute policies.
