Position Summary / Department Summary:
The Development Assistant, Events will play a key supportive role in achieving the fundraising goals of the Boston Children's Hospital Trust. As a member of the Events team, this individual will engage with event participants, patient families, donors, and vendors to support their fundraising activities for Boston Children's Hospital.

This position follows a hybrid work schedule, with on-site work required Tuesdays and Thursdays each week. Some evening and weekend event work will also be required.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Provide general administrative and office support, including responding to inquiries, managing department inbox and phone lines, preparing mailings, ordering supplies, scheduling meetings, and processing donations.

  • Support participants in annual peer-to-peer fundraising events benefiting Boston Children's Hospital.

  • Track and manage event sponsorships, including booking forms, invoices, guest lists, acknowledgments, and post-event reporting.

  • Process department invoices, vendor payments, and employee reimbursements; serve as liaison for resolving discrepancies.

  • Manage program budgets and reconcile monthly expenses.

  • Prepare meeting agendas, notes, reports, and other supporting documents.

  • Coordinate event and meeting logistics such as RSVPs, attendance, venue/Zoom arrangements, vendor coordination, supply orders, and nametag creation; assist on-site during events.

  • Maintain accurate constituent and event information in donor and event tracking databases.

  • Support supervisor and team with research, outreach, and special projects as needed.



Minimum Qualifications:

Education:


  • Bachelor's Degree required.

  • Associate's degree and a minimum of 4 years of fundraising-related work experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.


Experience:


  • Relevant experience in fundraising, event coordination, or administrative support.

  • Strong relationship management skills with the ability to build and maintain positive connections with donors, vendors, and stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and critical thinking skills.

  • Proven proficiency in customer service and time management.

  • Strong team orientation and ability to contribute to a positive work environment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); ability to manage and work with data and databases.

The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.

Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
