Job Summary:

Maintains and continuously improves the quality management system at assigned facilities including conducting assigned facility Internal Audits and Management Reviews, hosting External Audits and supporting resolution of nonconformances and actions. Primary contact for the assigned facility for QMS guidance including clarification and interpretations around procedures, delivering QMS related training, and supporting change management activities to build quality culture. Supports the development and implementation of the organization's QMS.

Working Relationships

  • Reports to (Senior) Manager, Quality Management,
  • Peer Relationships:
  • Works directly with Operational Managers and their teams to support quality related processes and issues, support the internal/external audit function and resolution of non-conformances, actions, complaints, and other quality related topics
  • Works directly with the Technical Management team and others in support of accreditations required in assigned facilities, training & qualifications and
  • Employees within department to communicate on quality related issues to promote quality and consistency
  • Employees in other departments to train, educate, clarify or provide advice regarding quality policies or procedures; receive, issue and resolve non-conformances; and to fact find
  • Heads of departments (Managers, Directors and Regional / Commercial Vice Presidents) to share information on quality related processes and issues, support of internal/external audit function, resolution of non-conformances and communication of KPIs
  • Auditors from external bodies to coordinate external audits and resolve non-conformance issues
  • External bodies administrative contact for accreditation and recognition maintenance and other administrative tasks.

Dimensions:

  • Responsible for annually scheduling and completing up to 25 Internal and External Audits and 5 Management Reviews for assigned facilities.
  • Responsible for oversight of up to 150 NC and ACTs to meet on time delivery/resolution of nonconformances and actions of established metrics and external accreditation bodies / regulator deadlines.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of assigned quality process improvement projects.
  • Responsible for working in an impartial manner, independent of influence from other departments, as per the CSA Code of Conduct
  • Leads internal audit activities for the assigned facilities. Activities include audit scheduling, developing internal audit plans, assessing facilities and projects for conformance to requirements, documenting audit evidence, issuing and presenting audit reports to facility management.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead external audit activities for assigned facilities. Activities include audit scheduling, supporting facility management in preparing and planning for the audit, primary contact for external auditor on-site, working with facilities management to resolve any external auditor concerns, and post-audit responses
  • Manages and provides oversight around resolution of nonconformances, completion of investigations and associated actions resulting from internal and external sources such as audits, management reviews, and employee raised issues. Activities include liaising regularly with facilities management to support root cause investigations and align on appropriate actions to resolve the nonconformance.
  • Conduct effectiveness review of the QMS including reviewing completed actions for effectiveness.
  • Primary contact for the assigned facility for QMS guidance. Activities include clarification and interpretations around procedures, delivering QMS related training, and regularly leading change management activities to build quality culture.
  • Implements and monitors continuous improvement activities at the assigned facilities. Activities include recommending to management opportunities for improvement and process changes to improve quality management.
  • Lead and conduct management review meetings. Activities include preparing materials, facilitating the management review meeting with facility and top management, documenting results and reporting results to management.
  • Manages and provides oversight around the complaints process. Activities include facilitating the investigation of the compliant, and oversight of the completion of follow up items assigned.
  • Support the creation or update of procedures. Activities include supporting process owners with document control requirements, alignment of procedures with the QMS, and reviewing local and facility specific procedures.

Work Environment

  • Mix of normal office environment and remote working.
  • Mix of standing, sitting, walking, light lifting.
  • Follow all HSSE requirements.
  • Business travel several times a year with durations up to 10 business days.
  • Occasional off hour meetings to accommodate for regional time zone differences.

Preferred Education & Experience

  • University Degree in Engineering, Business or other related discipline
  • Certification as a QMS Leader Auditor
  • 5 years of experience with CSA Group and/or related industry experience
  • Significant experience in administration of quality assurance or related management systems areas with a focus on ISO 9001 and/or ISO/IEC 17065/17025/17020
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, prioritize work and follow-through with assigned functions and duties
  • Demonstrated ability to work with different internal and external stakeholders and ability to manage conflict
  • Proven strong interpersonal skills, ability to work in teams, and able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Demonstrated decision-making skills with systematic problem-solving ability
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications, SharePoint, Power-Platform, and project management, scheduling and planning software (e.g. Smartsheet)
  • Extensive knowledge of CSA Group procedures and processes is preferred
