Job Description

The Mechanical Maintenance Technician will perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on plasma machines, Bystronic laser automation system, Powdercoat systems, Robotic welding systems, IR compressor systems, press brakes, 2-Axis CNC Lathes, 5-Axis CNC Mills, and other manufacturing machinery. This role is responsible for ensuring equipment uptime, applying Lean and 5S methodologies, and tracking key maintenance metrics such as Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) and Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) to improve reliability and efficiency.

This role is responsible for ensuring equipment uptime, applying Lean and 5S methodologies, and tracking key maintenance metrics such as Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) and Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) to improve reliability and efficiency.

What You Will Do:

Responsibilities


  • Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on plasma machines, lasers, press brakes, CNC equipment, and other machinery
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues and implement effective solutions
  • Conduct routine inspections to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently
  • Apply Lean and 5S principles to optimize workspaces and maintenance processes
  • Work closely with production teams to minimize downtime and enhance equipment performance
  • Track and analyze MTBF and MTTR metrics to improve machine reliability and reduce downtime
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, part inventories, and performance metrics
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies

Qualifications


  • High School/GED required
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical components required
  • Experience troubleshooting 2-Axis CNC Lathes, 5-Axis CNC Mills, Bystronic Laser Automation Systems, Powdercoat Systems, Robotic Welding Systems, IR Compressor Systems required
  • Understanding of Lean manufacturing, 5S methodology, and maintenance KPIs such as MTBF and MTTR required
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs, reliability best practices, and maintenance metric tracking required
  • 5+ Years Years of experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing environment required
  • Able to perform mathematical skills such as calculating proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume and able to apply concepts of basic geometry
  • Ability to read and understand prints and schematics
  • Ability to use small hand-power tools, including reading a tape measure with 1/32-inch increments
  • Able to use Microsoft Office Applications

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Physical Demands
This is a physical position that requires the individual to be able to: stand, walk and carry up to 50 lbs., push/pull, climb, walk up stairs and crouch. This position requires the individual to be able to communicate through speaking and hearing.
